It’s almost D Day. Sunday is the first Tri of the season…
I missed the online rego for the local triathlon a few weeks ago, so I will be doing this one completely off the cuff. UGH!
When I first set my sights on this tri I was determined I would go in and smash it, now I’m not so sure! My approach is now to survive the swim, have a strong ride and bring it home in the run. I feel like the bike will definitely be my strongest leg and I’m nervous about the run which is unusual for me… I guess I will find out on Sunday though!
This weekend will also see the lovely Katie and Nath tie the knot. Good times ahead! Although I only met Katie and Nath a few months ago, they are absolute legends and I am super stoked for the celebration of this amazing couple this weekend!
The last few weeks have been crazy busy and last weekend was no different. I went back to my hometown of Mudgee to celebrate my cousin’s 40th birthday, and what a celebration it was!
The party was AMAZING and Kel put on quite the shindig – Elvis even made an appearance! It was so nice spending time with family and friends and celebrate LIFE with everyone. Kelly is seriously one of the strongest people I know, whatever life throws at her (and life has thrown her some serious curve balls) she just rolls with the punches.
While back in town, I got out for my first ever road ride in Mudgee with my cousin Mark, which was awesome. I took Nate back to Mudgee to meet the family and he tagged along on the ride, first time clipped in and he smashed it… he didn’t even come close to stacking! I think he made quite the impression on the family too!!
I really appreciate Mudgee now that I’ve grown up – I think it’s such a beautiful little place and I’m super proud to call it my hometown.
We returned to Wollongong on Sunday to the most amazing weather…
…this smoothie has been in my belly 2 mornings in a row – PERFECT for these beautiful summer mornings! I used frozen cherries but you could use fresh ones if you prefer!
The bits and pieces
1 cup frozen cherries
1 banana
1/2-3/4 C unsweetened almond milk, depending on how thick you want your smoothie
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 tsp coconut essence
2 tbsp shredded coconut
1 tbsp cocoa
1 tbsp peanut butter
handful of ice
In a blender, add all ingredients and blend for 2 minutes. Serve and top with more coconut and a cherry on top!
Enjoy! x
Woah looks freaking awesome. Will have to give it a shot. Nice to see some pics of the ol home town as well.
Thanks Tim! :) It is a pretty beautiful place isn’t it! I had this again this morning I am seriously addicted to it! SO tasty!
Yeah it certainly is. I don’t get back much really, but will hopefully do so early in the new year.
